This lovely vintage butterfly wing and opal pendant is made by the Shipton Co. of England. It depicts a lady in fancy dress, with reverse hand painted detail, genuine opal chips in her dress, and set on a background of Morpho butterfly wing for dramatic effect. The Shipton Co. applied for a patent for butterfly wing jewelry in 1922 and this pendant is vintage 1920s/1930s. The frame is sterling silver with a beaded edge.
