Hand-Painted, Hand-crafted, Sculptite on wooden base, Figural Chess Set.
Major pieces stand ~ 3.5 inches tall
Pawns stand ~2.5 inches tall;
all are on a 1inch wooden base with a blue felt bottom.
Does not come with a case for the chess pieces. They will be individually wrapped for shipping.
The chess pieces are produced by Anri Toriart in Italy. The company Anri has been a respectable high-quality producer of wooden products since 1912. The chess pieces are a cast composite material invented by Anri called Sculptite". The castings are mounted atop weighted and felted turned Alpine Maple bases.This beautiful set represent the famous Charlemagne, with other figures from that period. Charlemagne lived from ca. 747 to 844 and was one of the greatest and most popular rulers that Western Europe has ever known.
Excellent condition, no breaks or chips on chess pieces. The board has a couple scuffs. See photos. Smoke free home.
