Marrion Wilcox's collection of vignettes set in Spain and Latin America features writing originally published in Harper's Magazine and elsewhere. Wilcox studied Latin America throughout his life, married a woman from Puerto Rico, visited South America and Mexico often, and advocated for the fair treatment of Cuba by the United States. However, in this volume, he argues that the "Latin" countries are not capable of self governance. This first edition features several black-and-white photo plates, including the frontispiece. This copy is in Good condition overall, with some mild to the cover, and some edgewear to the pages. Inner pages are clean and unmarked. 318 pages; approx. 5"x8".
