The Shure SLXD35-J52 is a wireless system that mounts directly on a camera and gives any XLR microphone a digital link that is dependable. Built for field production, it keeps cables out of the way while preserving the full character of a handheld, shotgun, or reporter mic.
Working in the J52 UHF band from 558 to 602 and 614 to 616 MHz, the system uses 24 bit transmission to deliver a 20 Hz to 20 kHz audio path with a 118 dB dynamic range. Sound crews can deploy up to 32 SLX-D systems together, so multi mic shoots stay organized even in crowded RF environments.
The SLXD3 plug-on transmitter attaches to the base of a microphone through a locking XLR connector. It supplies 48 volt or 12 volt phantom power for condenser models, offers a selectable pad at -12 or +12 dB to match hot or quiet sources, and includes a high-pass filter that tames unwanted low-end rumble. When the situation calls for extra reach, the RF output can be set to 1, 10, or 30 mW.
The SLXD5 receiver fits neatly on a camera or in an audio bag and feeds audio through two 3.5 mm outputs that can be set to line or mic level. Front panel gain control and an OLED screen make level checks fast, and an IR sync function pairs the receiver with the transmitter in seconds. The receiver offers about five and a half hours of operating time, while the transmitter can keep going for up to eight.
Whether you are filming a documentary in the field, recording a podcast with multiple guests on location, or covering breaking news, the SLXD35-J52 keeps the workflow simple. You can walk a handheld mic through a crowd, place a shotgun on a boom pole, or change frequencies quickly when conditions shift, all without interrupting the take.
