First printing of the first mass market paperback edition of Night of the Grizzlies by Jack Olsen (Signet, 1971). A detailed account of the brutal killing of Julie Helgeson and Michele Koons by enraged grizzly bears, and the societal fallout in the event’s aftermath. A very rare first printing of this hard to find book. Some rubbing/scuffing to covers and shelf wear around the edges. Corners bumped, with creasing and tears. Spine remains fairly straight and binding is firm. Text block slightly curved at fore corners. Blemish to interior of front cover where sticker was apparently removed. Pages are otherwise clean and unmarked though tanned. See photos for condition.
