The Märklin 6646 HO/Gauge 1 Transformer is a 32 VA power pack designed for the conventional AC operation of a model railway layout. It is specifically intended for use with a 120 V / 60 Hz power supply system, making it suitable for locations like the US and Japan, and is UL/CSA tested for safety.
This transformer features a plastic housing and provides two separate AC outputs. The first output offers infinitely variable track voltage (typically adjustable between approximately 5 and 17 volts) for controlling locomotive speed and direction via an integrated knob. The second output provides a constant accessory voltage of about 17 volts, ideal for powering electrical components such as turnouts, signals, lights, and other solenoid accessories.
