Art Deco Egyptian Revival Belt or Sash Buckle - Silver Plate set with Green Celluloid Scarab Bug
In excellent condition with patina in the recessed areas, which enhances the fine details. The green celluloid scarab is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. The plating is strong.
This is a rare and unusual belt buckle, estimated to date from the 1900s to the 1920s. It is unsigned and unmarked.
The buckle will fit a belt or sash up to 1 3/4" wide.
The overall size of the buckle is 2 11/16 inches (68mm) wide by 2 3/8 inches (60mm) tall.
The oval scarab measures 2 inches (50mm) by 15/16 inch (24mm).
