This is a lovely, deeply carved, shell cameo of a woman's profile set high in a 14k solid yellow gold frame.

The side of the brooch is marked with “14kt Italy” and “*331 N” which is Italian maker’s mark.

The image and quality of the carving are beautiful and the oval pin / pendant for necklace (combination piece) is very eye-catching. It is 1.5” (37mm) high and 1.2” (30mm) wide and weighs 9.5 grams. It has a bail at the top that allows it to be also worn as a pendant.
